The delicious breakfast begins with
fresh in-season fruit, rich dark coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice
and home-baked breakfast breads and pastries served with home-made
jam, all prepared by the host, a former pastry chef. A sampling of
the main breakfast entrees may include french scrambled eggs,
chicken apple sausage and country fried potatoes, or it may be Eggs
en Cocotte (a variation of poached eggs which includes spicy
breakfast meats, cheese and seasonings).  Yet another favorite entree
that originated in Denmark, is
a light puffy pancake that is cherry-filled and served with butter
and powdered sugar or pure maple syrup. And of course, our home-made
granola is always a hit! All of these delicious dishes and many more
are served either inside at the cozy dining table or outside on the
private deck that overlooks the year-round Calabasas Creek and pond,
all under the beautiful overhanging limbs of huge, old oaks. As you
enjoy breakfast, relaxing in the morning sunlight, listen to the
songs of birds and the chattering of squirrels beginning their day
as well.
The kitchenette includes sink and counter, refrigerator (with ice
maker) and microwave, as well as small coffee maker and an electric
tea kettle, and is equipped with dishes and silverware.
